American Girl Book Club

A few years ago my eager learner was a struggling reader. She was particularly interested in history, and obviously toys like any other child, so I presented the option to start an American Girl book club with her friends. She was a bit apprehensive to invite friends over for a learning party, but after the first meeting was a success it's become something that they all look forward to. We discuss the book plot, facts about that time in history, share food that was eaten in the book, and make crafts featured in the story.

Our next meeting will be on November 8th. We will travel to Boston, MA to discuss the second half of the Felicity series sent in days of the Revolutionary War.
